  • What is AZA5K? Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse 5K: Run for your life! is an interactive road race featuring zombies along the course who try to grab the flags of runners and walkers as they pass by.  It is a fun and family-friendly event to benefit Maynard Jackson High School PTSA.
  • When is the event?  The race will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016, rain or shine.  The race begins at 8:00 AM.  Registration may be purchased in advance online (Register Now) or on Race Day, beginning at 7:00 AM.  All race participants should plan to complete the race no later than 9:30 AM to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
  • Where do I park? There will be some parking available at the school parking lot.  However, participants and guests should be prepared to park on the streets nearby and walk to the school.
  • How scary is AZA5K?  The event is meant to be fun, but will feature zombies – by nature, that’s scary.  The race may not be suitable for young children or those with heart conditions.
  • How much does the race cost? Advance registration is $25 and includes a very cool, one-of-a-kind t-shirt designed by an art student at Maynard Jackson High School.  Race Day Registration is $30.
  • How do I register?  Register online in advance (here).  On race day, we will accept cash or credit cards.  No checks please.
  • Do I need to print my registration?  You may bring a printed copy of your registration, or a copy of your confirmation on your phone.  We will have a registration list, but just in case, it’s always nice to have your confirmation handy.
  • May I take photography of the event?  Yes!  Take all the pictures you’d like and we encourage you to post them on social media.  Use the hashtag #AZA5K  Be sure to connect with us on Facebook and Instagram
  • What is the approximate length of the event?  Due to the nature of this event, it may take participants a little longer to finish than a typical 5K race.  All participants should plan to finish no later than 9:30 AM.
  • Can I wear costumes or masks?  We highly encourage costumes!  But, it would probably be best not to wear a mask during a road race.
  • How can I support the event, even if I am not running?  We get it, it’s not for everyone.  If  you’d like to make a donation, purchase one of our super-cool t-shirts, or sponsor a student runner, go to the registration page.  We appreciate your support!
